the RAD BROMANCE meme

THE RAD BROMANCE* MEME!

* girls and all beings of other genders most definitely count as bros.

just a meme for fun people who just want to chill out and embark upon kickass friendship shenanigans.

✎ comment with the name and group (if they are in one). don't forget to add your preferences (AU/Non-AU, Het/Slash/OTA, etc.) in the subject line of your comment.
✎ use rng if you want to or just choose a scenario or two and mix and match.
✎ have fun!

1. CHOW TIME:
Food! Everybody loves food. It is the best social lubricant. Cooking it. Burning it. Eating it. Throwing it around! All kinds of food! A picnic, or a diner, or a barbecue, or a swanky restaurant which is going to regret letting you in very soon. The possibilities are endless.

2. SLAM DUNK:
Fuck yeah, sports. Who doesn't love getting all hot and sweaty in the sun? Balls, frisbees, cricket bats! Or, if you'd prefer not to torture yourself with physical exertion, maybe a game of pool is more your style.

3. ROCK N' ROLL:
It's always been your dream to play in a band together! Finally, you are making it happen. You are the most awesome bandmates and you make the best music. You are going to be stars!
(Or not?)

4. GAME NIGHT:
Pawn to d4. Get out of jail free. Colonel Mustard did it in the conservatory with the revolver. Nooo, I told you not to pull that Zenga block out! I warned you, bro.

5. DARES & PRANKS:
Truth…or dare! Or maybe just the lot of you wrecking everybody else's shit. What a bunch of clowns. But face it! It was hilarious. Just maybe not for, uh, that particular guy, who is coming over here, right now, with that look on his face…

6. INTO THE WILD:
For some bizarre reason, you decided to leave your nice, comfy beds behind and camp outside. In the dark. In a tent! Or even just a sleeping bag, under the staaaaars. Don't burn the marshmallows! What was that noise?

7. REV THE ENGINES:
Look at this awesome ride. You'd be happy to take your friends for a spin, of course! Wind in your hair, radio blasting music, the works. Although you would never let them touch the wheel. Nope. This car is your baby (or your parents') and that would be an extremely dumb thing to do!

8. MAKE A SPLASH:
Whether it's an ocean or your backyard or a jungle pool, there's nothing like a good dunk in the water to cool you off! I hope you can swim, because you are going in. Right now!

9. DISNEYLAND!
The smell of cotton candy, the tinny music, the cooling puddle of vomit near the exit to the rollercoaster. It brings you back to when you were ten years old and you thought this was amazing! Or maybe you still do. Who knows. Either way, there are plenty of things to keep a friend or two occupied for a day.

10. SOMETHING ELSE
What? These traditional, sacred bonding activities are dull and cliched? Your friendship is special and you need to do something a little more special? Jeez, what a wet blanket. Kidding! In that case, you are limited only by your own imagination.

Yifan sighed as he made his way off the rollercoaster ride finally. He was not at all pleased with having to ride it, especially after being forced to eat the entirety of some atomic chili cheese hot dog. He honestly wondered if his school mates were really out to kill him. His stomach gave a moan of discontent that mirrored his current mood as he walked behind the loud group of boys. He's still not even sure why he was here. He could be at home, studying and enjoying a peaceful night at home. Instead he's baby sitting 10 high school boys who were only a year or two younger than himself.

He bent down, picking up another article of clothing that had left one of the bodies to find its way onto the pavement. He dusted it off, noting it belonged to Minseok (or perhaps this was Lu Han's) and held it in his hands as he wondered how much damaged they could do if he slipped off somewhere to rest for a while. He was honestly getting too old for this and with the amount of sugar and calories floating through their veins, there was no chance they'd listen to him. Even if he did employ the dragon death glare. Though he had to wonder where had the other chosen guardian (and boy responsible for this mess of an outing) had gotten off to.

It had been a good while since Chanyeol went out to eat - well, more specifically, went out to eat with his hyung. Be it studying for some exam, or the fact Joonmyun was busy doing...uh, Joonmyun things (preparing to be a true and blue government man or being suave with the ladies, Chanyeol couldn't keep up), they hadn't been able to hang out much in quite some time. But all that aside! Because he was ready to chow down on foodstuffs.

"hurry hyung, i'm starving... TT" He sends a quick text to his to-be company, and remains waiting inside of the restaurant of choice; a small little place that had good kimchi ran by ahjummas in their cute little aprons. He had to keep assuring them that yes; he was still waiting for someone and no; he didn't want to order anything yet. Where the heck was his hyung?!

This is the Best Vacation Ever.

The sky was clear, the sun was shining, this sweater was a w e s o m e (he could feel the heat collecting just under his collar and that was Fantastic), the kids were happy, and then... and then Suho discovered ice cream. There was a queue going around the corner for the cart, but he was more than happy to fall in line and chat with some of the children ahead of him with the few English phrases he knew. Fortunately, talking to seven year olds does not require all too varied a vocabulary.

It takes him 20 minutes to get to the front, and when he does, he mimes and points his way through the menu. Armed with chocolate cone and vanilla milkshake, he makes his way back to where he knew he'd left the crew, except... except no one seems to be there except Yifan, now.

"It's your lucky day!" he crowed, brandishing his purchases as if they were the most precious treasures the Magic Kingdom could offer. "Milkshake. It's vanilla. I didn't know what you wanted." More like he didn't know who it was going to until he saw Yifan, but no one needed to Know That. As he held out the treat, Suho's eyes narrowed at the expression on their grumpy dragon's face. Second day in, and Kris Wu still couldn't turn his frown upside down. In the Happiest Place on Earth. "You are an anomaly," he stated, shaking his head. "Where'd everyone else go?"

yixing | exo | au | CH!line assemble (#5)

It’s that odd period of the party where everyone’s either at the point of drunk and no return or in the bathroom crying because I’m-suddenly-in-a-glass-cage-of-emotion-let-me-just-drunk-text-my-mom. Either way, there really was no win-win situation as far as Yixing can see and while he knows this party was going to be a pain to clean up in the morning, he’s glad that he even had friends to celebrate his return to begin with.

After three months in Changsha, it really did feel good to be back in Seoul. A part of him feels like he’s forever bound to this country, having found his niche in a group of boys that he’s honored to call brothers. It’s almost cliché really, in the most dangerous of ways, but Yixing figures life is only lived once and if he can’t have fun while he’s at it then he’d rather stay in Changsha anyway.

And maybe that’s why he’s agreed to play this dumb game of dare, glass of orange juice in his hand because heaven forbid he’s allowed to have just one drink to kick start the courage in his system. In the corner, he’s hoping he’s not the prime target of wandering eyes but when he hears a Yixing! amongst the giggles and slurs, he can’t help the immediate groan escaping past his lips.

“Do I have to? I didn’t even get to drink! How am I supposed to do anything if I’m not limbered up?”

(Anonymous) 2014-01-04 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
"They dispersed to ride different things. The trouble makers (Jongin, Tao and Sehun) went to Space Mountain. The short ones (Kyungsoo and Jongdae) said something about needing to go to the bathroom. Yixing and Lu Han went to play mini games to try and win a stuff toy. The last three wanted to ride Tower of Terror or something like that." Yifan looked at the milkshake and felt his stomach do another turn but accepted it anyway. He took a small sip, wondering if it would help settle his stomach though the gurgle of hate from his intestines was starting to prove otherwise.

It was nice though, to finally be free of their so called children for even a moment. He decidedly ignored the anomaly comment and walked over to find a bench to sit down on. He crossed his mile long legs, looking over at Joonmyeon and motioned to the empty spot next to him if the elder of the parental pair wished to sit with him. Honestly, he wasn't sure why he let the other talk him into these situations. It's his fault the ten other spoiled rich kids were so wild and unruly. Though Yifan had developed a soft spot for each one of them. He kept it locked away with his heart back in China.

"How much longer will we be staying? I fear they'll break something or try to kidnap one of the mascots." Yifan cringed slightly since they had already tried to. Poor Cinderella. If it wasn't for Yifan she wouldn't have stood a chance. Thankfully Mulan has stashed herself away from their sights or who knows what would have happened.

'you say this as if you are not always starving. but ok!! i'm parking!!'

Parking, Suho thought, that would have been done a lot faster if he hadn't needed to attend to the incessant beeping of his phone, no thanks to you Park Chanyeol. Also possibly a lot faster if he'd driven something small and reasonable — like a sedan — to the restaurant instead of his huge black truck, but... but he had all his stuff in the truck and that was the story he was sticking to.

By some miracle of whatever deity was fashionable at the current moment, he was able to wedge the truck into the tiniest parking space in all of Seoul. Suho jumped out of the car and checked his angles, grin widening as he found that not a single edge touched the wall or the car beside his (a silver Toyota). Alright. Cellphone, check, wallet, check, credit card, check... he made his way into the restaurant and looked around for the derp who was head and shoulders taller than everyone else in the room. Aha, bingo. You could see those ears from a satellite in outer space.

"Sorry I'm late!" he greeted, sliding into the seat opposite Chanyeol's. "Couldn't find parking. Hyung will pay." Obviously. "Did you order yet? I feel like jjigae. It's cold as balls out."

After checking on whoever was in the bathroom to make sure that nobody was texting their mom (Goddamn it, kids, underage drinking is an actual crime in Korea and who is going to get reamed for it? This guy!), Suho goes back to where the majority of the group had gathered in a circle on the floor. An eyebrow rises, it reaches its peak and stays there; in the meantime, he finds another drink, seeing as how his glass seems to have magically vanished. Oh, no, there it is, with Kris.

"What are we doing?" he asks blithely, coming up behind his recently-returned-from-Changsha friend and slinging an arm over Yixing's shoulders. Suho is really in no position to be doing what he's doing, but he doesn't believe in letting his height limit his greatness, either. "Truth or dare?"

Yixing! Yixing! Yixing! There is a chorus of inebriated voices, everyone smashed enough to want something Really Badly, just not sober enough to know what that is. When someone suggests that Suho think of the dare, he makes a face, takes a sip of his new, apparently non-alcoholic, drink. He's shit at truth or dare, has never quite possessed the imagination to think of something really crazy and creative. Fool's courage we've got in spades, but true inspiration not so much.

The first thing that comes to mind is to make his friend strip and go for a run around the block. Suho prides himself in the fact that he doesn't voice this suggestion, remembering that the temperature tonight is -3°C. Since public humiliation is out, public vandalism is, too.

Private humiliation, though...

"You don't need a drink," he drawls lazily, grinning. Despite his unfocused expression, Suho is actually dead serious about keeping Yixing away from the liquor. "You just need to call that girl... whassername again Chan? Nicole, yes, thank you. Ring her up and then perform 'Call Me Maybe'." A pause. "With dance steps."

Chanyeol was all smiles the minute his hyung walked into the door and slipped into his seat; indeed, the weather outside was most definitely not the best. He had to double up on all those layer of clothes. The coat he wore here was hanging on the back of his chair, thanks to the slightly warmer environs of the restaurant. "I didn't order yet - but jjigae sounds perfect! What kind do you want..." He made motion towards the menu on the table; he already knew he wanted kimchi jjigae (he doesn't know why, but kimchi has been a much bigger part of his diet lately).

He did order a soda though; a cola, which he took a long sip of through his straw.

"It's like we haven't seen each other in...a long, uh, time." He nodded, but it wasn't like he kept a note on exactly how long. He knew Joonmyun was a busy guy, but when you're Park Chanyeol and you grow attached to those you're practically grown up with...not seeing people is agonizing. However, another part of being Park Chanyeol is that things that are too serious are also a bit uncomfortable. "...Are you leading some sort of a double life?!"

Darling calls him lazy and Jungwoo knows he’s lazy so maybe that’s why he’s attempting to save face and lose a few holiday pounds by agreeing to play a little one-on-one with his favorite dongsaeng. He doesn’t remember how it got to be the New Year, 2014 dawning upon them faster than Jungwoo could run, but it was a good opportunity to act upon his resolutions even if he’s already failed one of them (hey, learning how to stop eating shredded cheese past midnight was hard, okay? He’s not going to let anyone else tell him otherwise!)

With the gym empty and a basketball in hand, he’s surprised to find Tao already there before him, sitting and fiddling around with his phone like he’s still not used to the thing yet. “Hey,” he greets as he dribbles the ball over, more than ready to play because ouch, looking at Tao’s physique makes him feel highly insecure about his own. “Xing said he’ll come down soon so you can expect him in about three hours. ‘Til then, whoever gets to ten points wins?” Of course, he should probably set some rules about their little tournament. After all, two mutants going at it on the basketball court with no restrictions? There’s bound to be some madness.

Nicole.

Nicole

Nicole.

He’s back in Korea for One day and yes, maybe he’s already starting to hate his friends. You’d think after several months of no game, they would’ve forgotten about the embarrassing oops-i-dropped-the-ball incident he had with a certain girl. It’s not like he’s ashamed by it (no, of course not!!), but his face still burns at the mention of her name every time it is brought up. Note to self: never tell anyone of the girls you are going after because if you fail, you will never live it down.

“I haven’t spoken to her in months,” he begins, suddenly shy at the prospects of hearing her voice on the phone because singing Carly Rae Jepsen surely wasn’t all that humiliating anymore (not when he’s positive the rest of the bunch have killed the song for everyone else). It was like he was in middle school all over again except worse because now he’s not even allowed a drop of alcohol thanks to the no-nos he’s done in the past.

This is something he supposes he can commend Suho for. When people try to force things down his throat, it’s always his hyung that comes to save the day. Oh, how it sucks that Suho’s in university now. Well, maybe not too badly, his face is still burning at the cheeks and his fingers are absolutely refusing to find the phone hidden in the depths of his pockets.

“She probably doesn’t even think we’re on a talking basis anymore! You can’t just call someone after several months of no talking and then sing to them, it just doesn’t work that way. You do know she’s in my physics class, right? I mean, what am I going to say to her when she sees me again? ‘oh sorry, I was just doing a dare with a bunch of my asshat friends, forget about it?’ I can’t!”

But really, he could and that was the issue here. He could talk to her and he could try to spark up this whole hey-what-happened-I-thought-you-liked-me? Thing all over again but closure was hard and he’s Chinese. Chinese people aren’t good at Korean.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-04 09:52 am (UTC)(link)
One nod for the troublemakers, another for the short ones (and we have managed not to be personally offended by this), another nod for the China Line... Suho stopped short at Tower of Terror. "What? I wanted to go on that. How could they leave without me..."

Someone, he supposed, needed to take care of the senior citizen. He followed Kris to the bench, taking a seat next to their basketball player. "One more day," Suho replied, licking up the sides of his cone to catch melted ice cream before it made contact with his hand. If only Lu Han were to be asked, they'd probably stay here forever, but there was still Europe to wreak immeasurable amounts of havoc unto.

Suho leans back against the bench, pose relaxed and unfussed. He was in Disneyland, he had ice cream, what could possibly go wrong? "If they break something, we'll buy it," he reasons. He doesn't really understand how Kris can be so uptight in the face of something as small and insignificant as damage to public property, like they all haven't done much worse back home. Besides, the kids were on their best behaviour and didn't look like they were anywhere close to setting Disneyland on fire the way Kris feared. "And I told you, it's not kidnapping if the victim is willing." An easy grin, and Suho turns his gaze back onto the park, some places still yet unexplored. "What do you want to go on next? You wanna take in a show?" That's Kris' speed right there, sitting on his ass and just watching. "The hell did Baekhyun put the map... I think there's an Aladdin show going, but I didn't check the time." Suho brandished the map from the back pocket of his jeans, all crumpled up, and handed it to Kris. "You read it. I can't English."

(Anonymous) 2014-01-04 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Doenjang? Doenjang jjigae, yeah, I haven't had that in a while." Suho looked up and flagged down one of the ahjummas for a menu, and flipped through the pages once it was handed to him. "How about some pork belly?" Three servings of samgyupsal, two for Chanyeol and one for Suho, ought to be enough to curb their appetites for a good long while, plus the process of grilling the meat would allow him to spend time with a dongsaeng that he felt he'd neglected lately.

But it was just so busy. He was moving to Massachusetts in three months and the list of things to do seemed endless on the outset. Suho was slowly, steadily working his way through it, while trying to get through his last few weeks in high school and running errands for his father, but it felt like there was never enough time.

Only Chanyeol would go from 'I haven't seen you in a while!' to 'Are you leading a double life???' He leaned forward and flicked the younger, right in the centre of the forehead for maximum effect. "It's just busy." A vague enough answer without sending Chanyeol into one of his Conniption Fits TM, the way he did whenever he heard anything about Suho going away to college or to the States or Leaving. "I'm doing a lot of work for my dad lately. How are things with you?"

(Anonymous) 2014-01-04 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Lay talks, but all Suho hears is a bunch of lame excuses. He leaves his drink on a nearby table and begins to bodily search his friend for the location of his smartphone, closes his hand around something square and blocky and lifts Yixing's wallet successfully from his pocket. Which he then promptly tosses off, seeing as it's not a phone.

"I for one am offended that you would call us 'asshats'!" His hurt tone is completely betrayed by the shit-eating grin on his face, and Suho continues his search despite Lay's incessant squirming. "Come on, give it up. And it's a dare! Not accepting the dare would bring us Dishonor," he finishes ominously. Yixing is a very my-pace kind of person, lazily meticulous and impossible to hurry, but dangle Dishonor in his face and he usually springs into action. Usually. "Have you not Dishonored this famiree enough when you dropped the ball with her all those months ago?! We've never lived it down..."

His hand finds something that feels a lot like a Samsung Galaxy, and Suho takes it out with a gleeful crow. "Wait. Wait! Are you telling me you stopped talking to her but you kept her number all this time? Bro! What the hell!" Contacts, scrollscrollscroll... aha. NICOLE. Dial.

"Go on, she'll at least have a laugh about it." Suho switches the phone to speaker mode before handing it off with a megawatt grin. "Wouldn't that be good? Making a girl laugh?"

(Anonymous) 2014-01-04 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
The flick to the forehead wasn't much of a surprise - it was something Chanyeol was expecting for saying something so out of place. He just laughed as the ahjumma took away the menu when they finally ordered; the idea of pork and jjigae was enough to make him drool, but he did no such thing!

Chanyeol was quite aware of Suho's true reason of being busy; school, university to be correct, and it wasn't the fact he was going to school that would have upset Chanyeol - Joonmyun was going overseas, to the States, to some university there and away from his pals back home. Yes, the boy was more than upset about it. But he wasn't planning on this meal with weighing all the sadness with his hyung. They were going to just have a nice time.

"Well, I've just been studying a lot. I need to take school more seriously in order to go to college, so..." He sighed. Needed to think of other things that were going on. "Other than that, I haven't really done much. Had to give Wiggle away to an actual farm because she grew too big to fit in my room and sleep on my bed..." He blames all the food he gave her because he found her to be too cute. "They're vegetarians, the family, so they're not going to eat her. Um..." This kinda went to show how slow life's been recently.
